Pending FEMA Flood Maps (Effective January 29, 2021)

The FEMA flood maps are changing! On January 29, 2021, a new set of Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) will become effective. These maps are produced by FEMA and used by:

Municipal officials to determine: (a) Which areas of the community are subject to its floodplain development regulations; and (b) The building requirements that apply for development activity in floodplain areas.

Lenders to determine which properties require flood insurance as a condition of a mortgage or other loan.

Insurance agents to determine flood insurance rates for properties.

The general public to understand flood risk in their area.

The pending flood map panels have been uploaded to the Town of Hampton website, and may be accessed from the Planning Office page: https://hamptonnh.gov/244/Planning
