Hampton Police Hiring Process
The Hampton Police hiring process could be compared to completing a checklist. You must successfully complete each item in order to move on to the next phase. For example, file a Job Application to be notified about taking the Written Exam. You must pass the Written Exam to move onto the Oral Board (Interview). You'll need to also complete a Physical Agility Test to move forward. You'll need a Medical Clearance before taking the Agility Test.

Score above the cutoff in a general aptitude test that includes spelling, grammar, math, maps, etc...
- ORAL BOARD -
Interview with three Veteran Officers posing questions and hypothetical situations.
- PHYSICAL AGILITY -
Meet entry level standards for your age group. See our Agility Standards for details.
You must have a Medical Clearance Form to test.
- BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION -
Intense analysis of Personal & Work history, Criminal & Motor Vehicle records, References, Credit reports, School & Military records.
- POLYGRAPH -
Successfully complete a Polygraph exam regarding your Personal History and Behavior.
- PSYCHOLOGICAL EXAM -
Testing and Interview to determine suitability for the rigors of Police work.
- PHYSICAL EXAM -
Complete a Medical Examination and Drug Screen.
- CHIEFS INTERVIEW -
After completion of the Background Investigation.
- CERTIFICATION -
Successfully complete the 239 Hour New Hampshire Police Standards & Training Part-Time Officer Academy.
- TRAINING -
Successfully complete an intensive 150 Hour Hampton Police Training program.
- PROBATION -
Successfully complete two summer seasons providing satisfactory service.
