Town of Hampton Master Plan
On February 15, 2023, the Planning Board adopted a comprehensive update of the Town of Hampton Master Plan, replacing the previous outdated and unmanageable document. This new Master Plan is the result of over three years of hard work, led by a dedicated Master Plan Steering Committee that guided frequent and extensive public outreach and engagement opportunities throughout the planning process. A Master Plan Implementation Committee (MPIC) will be established to ensure the new plan is properly utilized.

Project Background - Master Plan Update
Phase I
During the first phase of the project (which concluded in March of 2021), the Master Plan Steering Committee sought input on the Vision and Coastal Management portions of the plan. The Vision states the values and ideals that will guide the Master Plan. Coastal Management refers to the actions taken to keep the coast’s natural environment, built environment, quality of life, and economic prosperity in balance; it includes resilience - the ability to thrive in a changing climate.
Phase I of the Master Plan update was funded, in part, by NOAA’s Office for Coastal Management under the Coastal Zone Management Act in conjunction with the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Coastal Program. Milone and MacBroom were the consultants for the first phase.
Phase II
The second phase of the project (which concluded with plan adoption on February 15, 2023) expanded upon the Phase I work, and involved a long overdue comprehensive update of the Town's Master Plan. This new Master Plan will help to guide future development, infrastructure improvements, natural resource protection, and other land use related issues. Resilience Planning and Design were the consultants for the second phase.
Phase II of the Master Plan update has been funded as a result of a favorable vote on Article 10 at the March 10, 2020 Town Meeting. Resilience Planning and Design were the consultants for the second phase.

How to Get Involved
