To register to vote a person must be at least 18 years old by election day, be a United States citizen and a resident of Hampton
Where to register:
You may register to vote up to ten days before an election (except a Primary) at the town clerk’s office. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 11:30am.
In addition, the Supervisors of the Checklist will be in session at the town office on a date specified in the local paper. Please feel free to call the Town Clerk's Office to learn of the date determined by the Supervisors. You may register to vote at the polls on Election Day .
What to bring:
Photo ID – valid New Hampshire Drivers license (with a Hampton address it will also serve as proof of residency)
Or valid out of state driver's license or if you are not a licensed driver a government issued ID.
If you are a naturalized citizen, bring proof of citizenship. (Affidavits of citizenship are available)
Proof of residency: NH driver's license, lease agreement, rent receipts, utility bill mailed to the Hampton address, mail with the yellow address change from the post office (Affidavits of domicile are available)
If you are a Hampton resident but temporarily out of town you may register to vote by mail and also vote absentee. Contact the town Clerk’s office 603-926-0406.
